Helping people choose music for a special event is an adventure and I have a lot of fun doing it. Discovering new music and creating memories that last a lifetime is achieved by performing that special song at precisely the right moment.
It is easy to see that a little bit of planning goes a long way toward the success of an event.
Beautiful Wedding Dinner in San Marino
After a full blown wedding reception over the weekend this family planned an intimate dinner for friends.
Traditional Chinese Love Songs
The client hired me as their DJ and Master of Ceremonies and also asked that I provide a live Harpist and Violinist playing Traditional Chinese love songs.
The property is historically part of the original Huntington estate. This beautiful home became more and more beautiful in early dusk as Christmas lights and landscape lighting came on.
I was completely surprised by the occurrence of fog that quietly rolled across a wading pond behind us creating a mysterious atmosphere during our performance.
The Power of Live Music
Though expansive this backyard had natural sound reflecting surfaces and wonderful acoustics. All it took was a little amplification to fill this space with beautiful music. The sound bounced off the back of the house and reflected again off the hill behind the house creating a bubble of sound in between. Guests could easily converse while surrounded in music.
The ensemble chosen was perfect for this event! Their performance was so beautiful and the client so impressed that he kept pushing off starting DJ music in order to keep the live Harp and Violin music going.
To contribute to the preference that live music should continue I setup my keyboard and joined the ensemble.
Finally dinner was over and DJ music could begin.
Your Ideas About Music
Several factors came together on this special event. Guests, Location, Food, Music and yes Live Performance all contributed beautifully to this evening.
When you have a moment I would welcome the opportunity of speaking with you about music for your coming special event. Planning music is half the fun!
