Soft lights.
Beautiful Grand Piano.
Couples came to hold each other closely and dance.
Everyone enjoyed great food and great company.
In addition, this beautiful location provides a high level of service that inspires relaxed natural conduct. Ladies conduct themselves as ladies and gentlemen remember their manners and conduct themselves as gentlemen.
Regarding this high level of service please see: The Value of Interest
The Elegant Music Jazz Trio (Piano, String Bass, Drums) provided soft background music early in the evening including Ballads, Love Songs and Bossa Nova. Later we cut loose and played Swing Dance and Contemporary Music.
I really enjoy playing with this band; Jim Garafalo on String Bass and Gary Myers on Drums and Vocals. Very sensitive players who really know how to support me as a soloist. We started with a quiet version of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Roberta Flack. As the room filled up with more diners and dancers we brought up the energy.
The evening included:
Deja Vu, Issac Hays
18th Variation on a theme of Paganini by Rachmaninoff
In the Still of The Night, Cole Porter
Just My Imagination by the Temptations
Sway, Luis Demetrio
In the Mood, Glenn Miller
I Love You Like A Love Song, Selena Gomez
Get Lucky, Daft Punk
Suggested by my wife Sheila the trio even performed a “parlor song” originally published in 1901 “I Love You Truly” by C.J. Bond. You would recognize this song if you have ever watched the motion picture “It’s A Wonderful Life” with James Stewart and Donna Reed. So romantic!
The right music contributes to the atmosphere of any event; formal or casual. The best party is always the next party :-)

Hello everyone. The title of this episode is “Communication and Wedding Planning. Part 2”
In this episode, Tobey and I continue our discussion about this important topic.
Now “communication” here can be defined as is an interchange of ideas between 2 people who are talking to each other. And this should take place between a couple and their wedding coordinator. More fundamentally the couple should also talk with each other about their ideas. But what about receiving questions that are asked of one’s self. In other words, asking your self an important question and forming a personal decision. This I think is what makes “prepaired.com” so innovative. When filling out your profile you have an opportunity to answer questions that are unique to you.
And now please enjoy “Communication and Wedding Planning. Part 2″

Hello! My name is Eric Zimmermann. I am a DJ and Master of Ceremonies, Pianist and Bandleader. Since 1990 Elegant Music has provided Live Music, DJ Dance Music and Professional Announcing for weddings and events throughout Southern California.
I have a lot of fun playing with my Jazz Trio. On Saturday I played an elegant dinner dance with the Elegant Music Jazz Trio at the Annandale Country Club. Whenever this social club meets it is a formal affair; black tie. Such an event inspires men to become perfect gentlemen and women enjoy their men exhibiting proper manners :-) Though formal, there was nothing “stuffy” about this event. This was a party. Everyone had fun and dance they did!
One gentlemen at this party took a moment to speak with me and paid the band a very high complement. He said that he and his wife love to dance and regularly attend dances but that sometimes he notices that bands go into “a kind of a show and that loses the dancers.” He went on to say that my band was “truly a dance band and played the best dance music!”
Check out the video featuring ballroom dance music from such an event: Elegant Dinner Party with the Elegant Music Jazz Trio.
As a solo pianist I can play just about any song. But with the support of String Bass and Drums holding down the rhythm I can “stretch out” and play a greater variety of music! Hiring great musicians certainly helps.
Jazz is an improvisatory musical form. In addition to “Standards” and “Ballroom Dance Music” I also have fun improvising over the harmonic progressions from popular contemporary music. Here is a post with song lists from a wedding where the bride and groom requested popular contemporary music played in a jazz style: Alice and Wilson’s Beautiful Jazz Wedding.
Playing the right music is all about knowing your audience. Popular Contemporary Music or selections from the Great American Song Book I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about music you like.
Sincerely, Eric Zimmermann
